About the TCS Genealogy

The TCS Genealogy was started by David S. Johnson in 1984. Ian Parberry took over the task of maintaining and updating the database in 1993. He created the first WWW version of the genealogy on October 9, 1994.

The World-Wide Web version of the TCS Genealogy was created from the text database using a shell-script that makes heavy use of sed and grep. The database was last updated on July 22, 1996. The WWW pages were last updated on Tue Jul 23 12:57:00 CDT 1996.

Individual entries are served using a modified version of a CGI perl script due to Harry Plantinga.
